Amanda’s focus on user experience and research stem from her 7 years working for a Fortune 200 railroad and launching two businesses of her own before starting KOVUS. Her first business was featured in Fast Company for its design and usability.
In her time in the transportation industry, she successfully completed user interface design for several million-dollar software projects. Despite a unionized workforce with low technology skills, 97% of users voluntarily switched to a new web-based inventory system due to the usability of the product.
On another project, Amanda collaborated with key vendors to develop a warranty portal that eliminated 15,000 company phone calls a year and improved warranty processing time from 20 days to 3 days. Amanda’s tenacious and data-driven approach helps organizations test and implement solutions that exceed project goals.
PARTNER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
With over 10 years' experience working at a Fortune 200 company, Kevin served in a variety of roles for the Supply, Finance and Real Estate departments. In a company-wide initiative to improve the operating ratio, Kevin was selected to research vehicle fleet data (over 5,000 vehicles) and find process improvement opportunities. As part of the research, he conducted over 50 user interviews to gain valuable insights on the use and maintenance of all types of vehicles. The recommendation of the team was a complete overhaul to the fleet management process, resulting in a $25 million year-over-year savings.
In addition, Kevin designed and implemented a new real estate project management system for tracking the company's real estate portfolio and yearly revenue in excess of $100 million. Kevin's education and vast experience working with hundreds of businesses give him a unique results-oriented approach.
PROJECT MANAGER // USER RESEARCHER
Jake has over 5 years' work experience in business strategy and communication management.
A key aspect of user experience is saying the right things to the right people. Jake developed his communication expertise by studying public relations and communications and working in various roles centered around marketing, advertising, and public relations.
Through his communication background, Jake is able to understand users' needs and effectively articulate a defined set of objectives, strategies, and plans for optimal productivity and success.
Kelsey is the newest member of the KOVUS team and has 6 years' experience in operations and client coordination.
She is passionate about user research and works tirelessly to ensure all the tactical aspects of conducting user research are a success. Recruiting a narrowly defined group of research participants, scheduling research interviews, transcribing, and compensating participants are all key aspects of making a research project run smoothly.
Kelsey also serves as a client coordinator and support for all project managers, which allows KOVUS to produce the highest quality work for our clients at amazing speed.
UX RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Dylan’s understanding of user experience stems from his background in graphic design and front-end web development. His ability to bridge the gap between design and user experience drives research in a productive direction. His focus on the research process helps discover accessible and meaningful customer insights into potential data-driven marketing strategies.
Just as important as understanding the user’s experience, is articulating the thinking of research participants back to our clients. Dylan works closely with each team member at KOVUS to clearly and purposefully outline the best solutions for our clients. Dylan is also able to take the sometimes unclear design feedback of research participants and create usable and engaging online experiences.
Sommer joins KOVUS with a background in business management and marketing and is currently a full-time student obtaining her Master’s of Business Administration from Creighton University.
Sommer works closely with each team member at KOVUS to assist in providing outstanding customer service and valuable results for our clients. Through her work, Sommer is able to use her experience in marketing, customer relations, and community outreach to develop a better understanding of client and end user needs.
Her favorite part of her work at KOVUS is being able to positively impact the lives of others by conducting thoughtful research.
